Umm, nothing super exciting happened to me today. I have to do a project about AIDS awareness, so my group plans to give out little red ribbons later for people to wear. I think blue ribbons are breast cancer. So I had to go to a fabric store. I stuck out like a sore thumb. I was in a huge room with old ladies. I didn't know where anything was. I stood for 3-4 minutes looking up at a huge wall of pins. I was looking for a box of 100 count bobby pins, and there were so many kinds. If you want to be amazed, just go to a fabric store and stare at a wall of pins. There were big ones, small ones, curved ones, brass ones, plastic ones. Then I asked for 200 inches of red ribbon. I was trying to figure it out in my head how many feet I should ask for, but instead I just asked for 200 inches, and the lady with the calculator figured it out in 3 seconds. Amazing, I should've known better, these ladies with a fabric store have to know their math pretty well. The answer is 5 and 5/8 feet. Total cost for my pins and ribbon: $7.89
Then I went on eBay just a while ago and I found a basketball card I've been searching for! A Todd Fuller card from his college days!! You don't know how hard i've been searching for it. So I ended up using the BuyItNow, and the total cost for that one card is $16.43. I know what you're thinking, I'm a total idiot for paying money for a Todd Fuller card. Don't worry, I hear it from my brother all the time. You can laugh all you want when I get my Todd Fuller replica jersey later (those cost $40-60, and I will buy it one day). There's a certain price I have to pay to be the number one Todd Fuller fan. Apparently that price is $16.43.
So that got me wondering, wouldn't it be cool if Lowell produced trading cards of its athletes? Wouldn't you want to own a Barry Bonds card from high school? I think that'd be pretty cool. Although I wouldn't buy the Lowell football card set because most of those guys have attitude problems. I'd buy cards from the Volleyball team. Alex can have his own card and on the back it can have his stats. There would be room for a quote and I'm sure it would be "Sarsing."
Happy Mothers Day.
