This will be my Thanksgiving blog. I think most people will be busy during the four day weekend, so I figure why not post it beforehand so people may have the time to read:
1. My mom's school was raffling away 5 turkeys to the kids. The school is about 200 students, and my mom has about 15 kids. A raffle ticket only cost $.25, so my mom told her kids to buy one. Yesterday, it turned out that 2 of the turkeys were won by kids in her class. She was very happy. Man, talk about a sweet deal. Can't find too many $.25 turkeys around here. The cool thing is many of the kids are pretty poor/lower class, so it was nice of the school to have that kind of raffle.
2. I sign on to Yahoo a lot and always notice their daily news on their homepage. Every once in a while, they'll always have links to stories about a study a college makes. These studies are pretty stupid. For example, the other day they had a study that said "Higher Speed Limits Create Danger." That's the stupidest study ever, of course higher speed limits means more danger on the roads. This study was done by the Auto Safety Group, what a load of crap. Also, my brother remembered when they had a study done by Harvard that said "Stress Causes Acne." Most people already know that. Is that what these Harvard "scientists" are doing with their research money, proving things we already know? I bet their next study will be something stupid like "Exposure to radioactive material causes health risks."
3. My dad is feeling a little under the weather, so we will not be going to our normal dinner in Oakland with my dad's family. Instead, we may have to eat frozen pizza's, just like the pilgrims did. I told my mom to let me cook Thanksgiving dinner, but she didn't give me an answer. I told Dave about my canned dinner idea, but finding a canned turkey has been pretty hard. I'm still searching for a canned pumpkin pie.
Happy Thanksgiving Everybody!
