Today was an awesome day. Shannon had two extra tickets for today's Giants-Rockies game, so me and Dave went with her "crew". Anyway, the first 5,000 people with cameras were able to go on field and meet the players. At first, they told us we could only take pictures OF the players, and that's pretty lame. But eventually, a lot of the players started to take pictures with people. (Me and Dave were standing next to these group of kids, so whenever the players stopped to take pictures with them, I'd ask them for a picture too. Hehe, taking advantage of the kids). Anyway, I was able to take pictures with players like Wayne Franklin (the first Wayne I now have respect for), Scott Eyre, Neifi Perez, Brian Dallimore, Yorvit Torrealba, Orlando Cepeda, and Mark Gardner. Dave got pictures with Michael Tucker (me and Dave always call him weak, so we made it a point to take a picture of him with Dave), Matt Herges, and Jerome Williams. That was pretty sweet in itself. But to top it off, we got to shake hands with Edgardo Alfonzo (When I said "Hi", he said "Hey my man." Wow, I'm his "man"...sigh...), Jim Brower, Felipe Alou, Jesse Foppert aka The Stud, Jeffrey Hammonds (he gave Dave a hecka ghetto handshake), and BARRY BONDS. Me and Dave never expected to shake hands with Bonds, ever. We are not worthy. We had to go use the bathroom later, and we hesitated washing our hands, the very same hands that shook the hands of Mr. Bonds. But don't worry, we did eventually. Or did we...
So that was an awesome experience to be on the field of SBC and meet the players. We left during the 7th inning. I could tell Shannon thought we were weird. Don't get us wrong Shannon, we love watching the game, but we were working on 4 hours sleep and were confident (yet not cocky) that the Giants would win, and sure enough they did. Thanks for inviting us!
During the game, one of the Giants on first base called time-out to get something out of his eye. I joked to Dave and Shannon, "Maybe it was a dragonfly" because before the game, we saw these huge giant dragonflies flying around the park. Then exactly 5 seconds later, the guy one row behind me says "Maybe it was the dragonflies", then all his friends laugh. Dude, I just said that joke, could you not use my material, especially when I'm right there? It's not like I whispered it either, I said it pretty loud, and this guy tries to play off the exact same joke to his friends right after I use it. Rule Number 1 of stand up comedy (and I'm sure Cal can account for this) is NEVER use other people's material knowingly. Sheesh.
Here's a couple things I need to get off my chesthairs:
1. Why do people go on tv to solve problems? For example, I notice a lot of people go on Jerry Springer or Jenny Jones when they have something to tell their lover. WHY go on tv to tell them? I don't thing telling your lover on national television that you're a transvestite or that you're sleeping with their brother is the best way to settle issues. And I wonder what that before-the-show period is like. For example, if my brother told me he has something to tell me but it has to wait until we appear next week on Jenny Jones, I'd just bug the hell out of him until he told me. But he'd probably just say "Dude, just wait another week and I'll tell you the secret on Jenny Jones ok?"
2. I saw a Mountain Dew ad with Steven Seagal. All I can say is that I no longer will drink Mountain Dew.
3. I found this site when I typed in Lemmyboy on Yahoo. I have no idea what the numbers mean. All I know is that I seem to be worth a lot. And if you check the bottom, for some reason, Cal's site is there too. Here's an insider tip: my stock will be merging with AOL-Time Warner soon, but you didn't hear that info from me.
4. While we were in Pat's car on Thusday, we started talking about the new Garfield movie, and how Garfield will be animated but the other people will be real. I thought Jon would be good if played by John Ritter. Then I started thinking about other good cartoon strips and real-life actors that could pull them off in a motion picture. Here's what I came up with (this is what I do with my life): 1. Jeremy from Zits - James van der Beek 2. Zippy - Vin Diesel 3. Blondie and Dagwood - Charlese Theron and Tim Allen
5. I didn't say it on Friday but congratulations to Garson and Shirley. I know you guys will make good parents. You should have told me first so I could make it an exclusive breaking story on my website. If you ever need me to babysit, show your kid Kate Hudson movies, or teach your child the lyrics to John Mayer songs, you know who to call. I'll try to be a good role model around your kid, meaning I won't smoke, swear, or do my drugs in your child's presence. Uh, not that I do that stuff anyway, hehe (says Allan nervously as he wipes the sweat off his brow).
Thanks for reading! I will try to get those Giants and graduation pictures up this week in my Yahoo Photo website. There's a link to the left under all my Blog/Xanga links. Bye!
