It's been a pretty eventful week. My parents were gone for Hong Kong since last Friday so me and Dave had the entire house to ourselves. They came back last night and had many interesting stories to tell. My dad wants me to go to Hong Kong with him one day, and I would like to do some travelling someday, so perhaps in a few years I'll muster up the courage and hop on that plane with him. Until then I'll just make fun of the HK people here in San Francisco.
July 4th weekend was great. On Friday we went to go play some volleyball at UCSF. I decided to wear jeans there to play and didn't think it was a bid deal (I used to play basketball in jeans all the time as a kid and would still school everybody. Well, maybe not the black guys). Anyway, this director guy is eyeing me while I'm serving. I ask him if he needs to pass by, but he says no, so I just continue to serve. Then after the game, he comes up to me and says "You can't wear jeans here. You have to wear shorts." What kind of rule is that? The only rules I know they have at UCSF is no black sole shoes and no food/drink inside the gym. Luckily I had a pair of shorts underneath, but that doesn't make sense. Next time I should play in dress pants and see what he says. Bastard.
This adds to the UCSF-Lem feud. My brother didn't get in to UCSF pharmacy school, so he had to spend 4 years down in LA to attend USC. He is still very bitter at them. But in the end, I think the fact that he left for L.A. for 4 years really helped everyone grow because it made everyone less dependent on each other. But this isn't over UCSF...
On Saturday I helped Martin move into his new El Cerito apartment. We had to squeeze everything inside a small U-Haul and somehow we did. Then he treated me to lunch at McDonalds. I had a Happy Meal that included a Tony Hawk toy. I played with it for awhile, but really had no use for it, so I gave it to a family with two boys and the father said thank you. I told my brother about my good deed when I got home and he got mad at me because he wanted the Tony Hawk toy.
Later that day I went to Bennie's BBQ. There was so much food it would be heaven for a homeless guy. Thanks Bennie for all the food.
Last night we went to Hot Pot. Brian wanted to go all this time so we did it for him. I think I had 5 slices of bacon.
