"You have to take a chance on something sometime" - Jim Halpert.

I was bored tonight so I did a little channel surfing as usual. I found this movie with Ralph Macchio and started watching it. Before I knew it, the movie was called "My Cousin Vinny." I had no idea this was the famous "My Cousin Vinny" movie I heard so much about as a kid. 12 years after it's released, I finally see it, and this movie is awesome! I'm normally not a Joe Pesci (Pepsi) guy, but he was hilarious in this movie. And to top it all off, Marisa Tomei is in the movie! The first thing I saw her in was in "What Women Want" with Mel Gibson, and she was beautiful in that too. My Cousin Vinny is definately now a Lemmyboy Favorite.

Speaking of movies, we went to watch Napoleon Dynamite a few days ago. Brian called it "possibly the worst movie he's ever seen." I thought it was great. I'm definately going to buy it on DVD when it comes out. I hope there's a sequal to this movie. I do admit there isn't too much plot to the movie, but "gosh", you have to be an "idiot" if you don't think it's a funny movie. And trust me, I know good movies.

Corky Romano is making its television debut Monday night. Go watch it! That too is a Lemmyboy Favorite.

Raising Helen is coming out on DVD in October. I plan to buy it, and I rarely buy DVD's unless they have Kate Hudson in them. I also buy dumb comedies that have no point, like Corky, Malibu's Most Wanted, and Master of Disguise. On the topic of Kate Hudson, there was this huge article about Kate Hudson and her husband Chris Robinson possibly getting a divorce, but she said those rumors are not true (sadly). It was even on the cover of US Magazine. The way I see it is, if Kate Hudson gets a divorce and becomes single again, that gives me a chance, and I need all the help I can get.

Like Kenny, I will do a summer in review now:

The summer started off pretty slow for me. I found myself bored and doing nothing. Then good ol' summer school came around. That kept me pretty busy for the next six weeks. Plus I started that job Selina got me at the bookstore. I didn't do much there, but a job is a job. I also interviewed for the job at the English Lab for this fall, and got the job. That was big for me because I've always been the type to pass on opportunities because trying new things intimidates me, especially tasks that will require me to think and interact with people.

Because I worked and went to summer school, I couldn't spend much time at math camp this year. I always feel like I have a duty at math camp, but as you get older you realize you're replaceable (or at least I am). In a way, that's good because it doesn't tie you too closely to your math camp job, but it does make you feel useless at times. I know it sounds sad but I think I liked it better this way, meaning I was just being able to stop by when I can and help out when needed. It's too early to see what my summer plans are for next summer, but Dave's wedding will be in June and it'll hopefully be the summer before I transfer to Berkeley. Most of the kids at math camp are great kids and it's always a pleasure to get to know them. Some kids will be forever stored in your memory and palced in the Math Camp Hall of Fame. Recent inductees for me are the Wong Siblings, Diop, those two brothers who look like twins, went through puberty, and got messed up by Alex when Alex dissed his Spiderman artwork, and Stanley The Lonely Guy who literally showed up out of nowhere the last day.

The best parts about this summer were the John Mayer concert and the volleyball. The John Mayer concert was everything a fan like me could ask for. Hopefully he'll come touring again soon. But volleyball was definately the highlight for this summer. Like Kenny said, there's nothing better than hanging out with your closest friends and playing sports. There were plently of times we just went out to eat after the games and talked about anything on our minds, and that was enjoyable for me. Plus we drove around to many new places and showed some people we could actually play. You can bet if we play again next year at CCU that we won't be coming home with second place ribbons.

It's hard to see now, but I know I strengthened so many friendships over the summer. And it's hard to see because the process is so suttle. It's the little things like the midnight chats, or talks during the drive homes, or making fun of people during a late night snack. And it's nice to think over the past three months that people look at you more as a friend and vice versa because during these three months, both sides took the time to talk and listen. I think the only way to see how much two people have developed their friendship over the summer is to pretend like the past three months never happened and imagine what you two would be like then.

So that was my summer. School starts for me on Wednesday. I used to be scared of school, and I guess I still am. I think the Fall is worst than the Summer because I picture rainy days and the flu bug going around. Plus I'm going to have a buttload of homework, transfer applications, and now a new job. But maybe it won't be as bad as it seems. By the end of the next 18 weeks of class, I'll be one step closer to transfering and Christmas will be here. There's something about Christmas that makes me smile. Plus I'm sure for many people that their lives will change during those 18 weeks because of whatever circumstances they're in right now. The right kind of change can make us into better people. So I'm gonna grab my backpack and textbooks and "live it up."
