Hope everyone had a nice Labor Day Weekend. Here's a quick recap of mine:
1. Bennie's BBQ. It was a grand ol' time, thanks Bennie. I think the quote of the day came from Steve Jang when he told Kenny, "I love it when another man plays with my body."
2. Fantasy Football Draft. I have a really bad team. Brian called Bernard's team the worst he's seen in 5 years. I have a feeling my team is a lot worse.
Started my new English tutoring job today. It went a lot smoother than I thought it would go. I tutored two women today, and they were really nice and prepared. I tried to make as much sense to them as possible. The first woman I tutored seemed a little discouraged at the end (guess I didn't help her as much as possible), but the second seemed enthusiastic. She said I seemed like a "good writer." Maybe I'm just a good actor playing a good writer. But anyway, I think it'll take some time to get used to like any new job, but should be lots of fun. Plus on Friday afternoon's I'm there from 2-4, and I'm the only tutor there at the 3:00-4:00 shift, so if you stop by needing help, you'll be forced to see me as your tutor (well, I guess you can just leave but that's mean).
A while back my brother was in his room listening to the radio, and yelled at me to come in because my theme song was playing. I rushed in to find out what it was and it turned out to be Scott Krippayne's song. It is titled "I'm Not Cool" and here's a sample of the chorus:
"I'm not cool but that's okay
My God loves me anyway
I'm not cool but that's alright
I'm still precious in His sight"
So I guess that's my new theme song: "I'm Not Cool."
I was talking to Joe Ho about how maybe one day we should go back to Lowell with our backpacks, sit in the cafe, and eat lunch there. I'm curious as to whether anybody would notice us "high schoolers" there. I don't think anybody would say anything because we "seniors" would just blend in with the crowd. And while we're in the cafe, I would talk to some underclassmen and give them pointers on how to be cool. After lunch we'd strut through the halls hang out by our lockers like rebels (of course, those lockers would belong to somebody else). And if somebody did report us to the campus security, what would they do, give us detention?
