The Boston Red Sox actually won a World Series. This is probably the first World Series since I became a "real" baseball fanatic that I didn't pay much attention too. I was rooting for the Cardinals because I didn't want the curse to end, but so much for that. I just want to see one World Series Championship for the Giants and one NBA Championship for the Warriors in my lifetime. Then I can die happy. I was too young to appreciate all the Niners glory days, so I've been deprived of that too, but I'm not a huge football guy anyway (only Fantasy Football, if that makes sense). I guess I can sit and watch a baseball or basketball game for enjoyment, any team except the Dodgers, Yankees, Lakers, unless we're playing them. But I can't do the same for a NFL game unless I have some players involved from my Fantasy Football league. I guess since I never grew up playing football, I don't have a love for the game itself, unlike baseball and basketball.
I know I might get bashed for saying this, but the Giants might actually have a better chance of winning "the big one" once Barry Bonds is gone. Don't get me wrong, I love the guy and he's my favorite baseball player, but his $18 million dollars a year is killing us. If we could just spread out his salary and get three $6 million dollar pitchers/sluggers, it would give us a more balanced attack. Boston is an example that pitching will win games (and having a potent offesive doesn't hurt either). I come from the old school belief that pitching and defense wins games, although Boston was pretty sloppy the first two games (but they had the pitching in game 2 and the offense in game 1). Anyway, that's just my thought on Barry's salary. But it's not like my opinion matters much. Who am I? Who am I to tell Pedro Martinez what to do?
Ever notice that when you watch tv shows or movies, that when people are driving, they always have a parking spot right in front. I've never watched a movie where all the spots were taken so they drove around the block, or they ever had to parallel park. That's just not realistic man.
I can't wait until November is here. Then my favorite month of them all, December. I long for the holiday season to come.
Ben Lee made a good point. There are no more violinists at church for the orchestra anymore. Off the top of my head, it's just me, Ben, Cal, Elisa, Daisy...everyone is either having babies or going to Ivy League schools. (CCSF is not an Ivy League school). Maybe I'll be bumped up to first string strings (pun intended). I didn't mention this before because it would disrupt team chemistry, but I was snubbed last concert to be in the "Quartet." I was a bit disgruntled, but I did not let my emotions get in the way of my magnificent, pristine if you will, performance. There's a lot you don't know when it comes to CBC orchestra. You can pre-order your copy of my tell-all book that's coming soon. I also diss Kobe Bryant in it.
Fantasy Basketball draft coming soon. Pick tip of the day: Draft guys named Fred.
