I enjoyed reading all the comments left for the last entry; showed me people's opinions toward the situation. I suppose I'm just stirring up controversy, but at least it lets me vent. Just a few things I'd touch on from those comments then I'll move on:
1. Using the money to buy vans/gas is totally fine. But sometimes I get the impression that they spend money just for the sake of spending money. For example, is it really necessary to have a "project" every year? I think they want to build something new every year just to feel like something was accomplished. I could never justify the building of the Outdoor Fun-asium. The bleachers are slanted but I guess the idea was decent, although not many people use them. The overhead for the stairway isn't a bad thing. The "bridge" can be justified as useful although I never have/will use it. Then the new basketball Cage Arena showed up. I have no idea if church funds were used for that, although I suspect that was this years project because the house is associated as church property, which means using church funds is fine. That seemed to me like an independent project, but we may never know how that Cage came about without any business meetings.
2. I agree that I have my faults too. But Big Dog is the pastor, and should be living up to some kind of pastor standards. There are some universal agreements that everyone would agree on. I think pastors should not be known as having anger management problems. And I can no longer use the "that's just the way he is" argument. If we went around justifying Hitler's slaughtering by saying "that's just the way he is", who knows where we'd be now. I think I get more angry when he yells at other people than at me, because if he yells at me, I can just ignore him and do the opposite of what he tells me to piss him off even more. He doesn't yell at everyone because he does play favorites, which is why some people don't agree with my statements and will never fully see my point of view, but I think if you stay long enough your time will come. He does do a lot for the church so I'll leave it at that.
3. $9.49. That's almost exactly how much 10% of my paycheck is. Pretty sad. But that does sound like a good cause. Maybe I'll be throwing a flurry of $9 checks your way later Cal.
Finally bought my Raising Helen dvd on eBay. I realized why I'm so cranky all the time. It's because I haven't been getting my daily dose of Kate. I sat behind a blond haired girl the other day and it reminded me of Kate. Maybe I'll spend Christmas break having a Kate Hudson 5-movie marathon (everyone's invited!!!)
I'm going to leave you with some good advice that my Nutrition teacher told me the other day. "Try to get a handful of nuts every day."
