Lots to talk about this Thanksgiving weekend. Let me begin with a recap:
Thanksgiving Day was pretty good. I wanted to go check out the CBC football game, but I woke up at 9:30 and started watching the Colts-Lions game instead. I'll get myself to one day show up and watch on the sidelines. Thanksgiving dinner at my house was also pretty good. The cornbread came out decent.
Some of us got together on Friday for a dinner at Gold Spike. It was cool to see some people I haven;t seen in a while like Steve Jang (thanks for the free dinner) and Herm. We did wait a while for the table, but it was some good fellowship. Nice to see lots of people show up and just hang out. Thanks to Ben who also gave me a ride there. Bernard went to the ATM after dinner. I was hoping he was going to treat me to some Big Al's Adult Superstore down the street.
This weekend was basically video games and homework, which I can't complain about. It's been awhile since we've played some video games. Too bad we can't win a game in our NBA video game.
Today was Thanksgiving Testimonies at church. For some reason, they seemed more interesting this year, and I really looked forward to them when I woke up. Like everyone else has said, it's good to see people talk about their lives because things go on that most of us don't talk or hear about. There was a constant love theme this year, which is a little weird in church, but sounds like love is in the air. I tried to get a giant jar and capture some of that air for myself, but all of "God's Angels" hogged it up. I have to admit, it was a little sappy (even for me, who owns 6 Kate Hudson movies), but it was sweet.
And congrats to Garson and Shirley on their new baby girl Abigail. I didn't even find out until Friday night. I think I'm always the last person to find out about things, but no matter. I definately like the name Abigail, because it can be shortened to Abby, which is the name of Maura Tierney's character on ER (who I adore as if she is one of "God's Angels"). Anyway, if you guys are reading this, nice job!
Speaking of ER, Noah Wyle is going to have his own TNT movie on Dec. 5 called The Librarian. I know I know, sounds hecka corny, but Noah Wyle is my favorite actor of all time and I'm going to watch it. It looks like Indiana Jones meets The Mummy, but Noah Wyle is going to show the cable viewing world that he can be a doctor and an action hero.
I have a Borders coupon that is "Spend $75, Save $10", so if you guys want to buy some stuff there, let me know. Maybe I should do all my Christmas shopping there.
I hate my neighbors. They started tearing down their garage and backyard, and they always start hammering at 8:30 in the morning 7 days a week. It's been going on for the past two weeks, and my brother's room is right next to the noise. The windows of my house even shake when they drill and do their crap. I got so pissed off this Saturday that I opened my window and told them to "Shut the (heck) up." They must've heard me because they stopped, but maybe they only heard yelling over their drilling. Either way, this is the start of a feud. Let's just say my amp to my electric guitar will be very close to the walls during the nights. And the great thing is my parents have no problem with me blasting back at them because they are pissed too.
There is also an Indian family that moved across the street. I'm glad I don't live next to them, because they always have their kids run around and the adults do India rituals. I was so fascinated that I started to watch Indian music videos on the International Channel. It's always the same: Indian prince follows Indian princess begging for her love and affection, princess rejects him as they dance around the forests, couple ends up embracing.
I added some more pictures on my Yahoo Photo pages. Just click the link to the left under all the website links, and go to the Look-A-Likes photo album. It's proof that Chris Carrabba (lead singer of Dashboard Confessional) looks like John Stamos (of Uncle Jesse fame), that Jason Richardson of the Golden State Warriors resembles actor Mekhi Phifer, that basketball thug Michael Olowokandi looks like the singer Shaggy, and that Spurs superstar Manu Ginobili looks like the dude from Yellowcard. Enjoy the magic of Photoshop.
So it's back to school. I only have three weeks to go, and I'm pretty nervous because I'm getting my English essay back on Tuesday. I just need to finish strong and get myself ready for finals because they count for so much of my grade. Thanks for reading, and hope everyone has a good week.
