1. Sounds like the Gilroy Garlic Festival might be a possible trip this summer with people. Very cool.

2. Giants Fanfest is this Feb. 12. I went with Jeff a few years back and it was one of the best times I've ever had. We got to meet and talk with a whole bunch of people. Me and Dave might go this year, but nothings for certain yet. Supposedly, a few dozen Giants players will be there. I'd like to meet a few like Brad Hennessey and Mike Matheny, you know, the players nobody really cares about. Everyone likes Kirk Rueter instead. Last time they also had a memorabilia station set up where you could buy game used bats and jerseys. Perhaps I'll splurge $40 to buy a game used Yorvit Torrealba corked bat.

3. In my Asian American class, my teacher was telling jokes in Chinese on Friday. Everyone in the class was cracking up because 99% of the class is asian, and most speak Chinese. But I didn't want to be the guy not laughing because people would think I'm the guy with no sense of humor, or know the truth that I don't speak Chinese. So to avoid this awkward situation, I laughed so nobody would be on to me.

4. Martin let me borrow his book after he saw my last post, which chronicles the journey of two guys who went to every Major League baseball stadium in 38 days. I'm only on stadium 5/30 in the book, but I'm curious as to how the book plays out. It's unrealistic of me to be able to do what they're doing, but a West Coast road trip to the baseball stadiums is possible. I've only been to the stadiums for the Giants, A's, and Angels. Pat said he might be free in August to do something like that, but I start school on August 22 if I transfer to Berkeley, so it doesn't leave me much time. I was looking at the schedules today, and the games don't line up pretty well. It'd be something like San Diego -> Dodgers -> Anaheim -> Oakland -> Seattle. Then come back home and wait a few days for the Giants to come back. That Oakland to Seattle then back to S.F. is kind of extreme, but I guess it can be done. I'd miss out on Arizona too, which is worth going if I was down in the San Diego area. Colorado is too far out there as well. Anyway, maybe someday the West Coast trip will materialize.

5. And congrats to Tedy Bruschi of the New England Patriots, earning another trip to the Superbowl. Sorry Wayne, but it's safe to say that pencil of yours is now PROPERTY OF BRUSCHI.

6. Johnny Carson passed away today. I never watched his monologues or knew much about his comedy, but everyone calls him a pioneer in comedy. I’m guessing he’s like the modern-day equivalent of Jim Carrey or Chris Rock, without all the swear words.

Back to another week of school.
