Here are some random thoughts:

1. This year, according to my inside sources (Kenny), 2005 Math Camp will no longer feature nachos and otter pops. I was disgruntled when I heard this news, and yes, close to teary eyed (ok, that's a lie, but still). I cannot understand the logic behind this decision. Of course, this decision was made by one man who will not be mentioned. The reasoning behind this decision was that nachos and otter pops are too hard to clean up. I think it's a disservice to these kids who rely on our camp's healthy nachos and nutrient rich otter pops. I think it's a mistake to take these away from the kids. I would be willing to clean up and drive to the church every morning to pick up the otter pops. If I ran the menu, here's what I'd recommend:

1. Keep nachos and otter pops.
2. Get rid of the corn dogs. The kids hate them (although I like them). But how many times a year do we need to see Peony eat 8 corndogs because the kids won't buy them? (the answer to that question is only once).
3. Replace corndogs with pizza. Although pizza is harder to cook I assume, kids love pizza. Who doesn't love pizza? It'd be an instant hit.
4. Stop buying shrimp Cup O Noodles. Nobody likes the shrimp (although I like them). Stock up on the beef and chicken flavor instead.
5. Consider buying the real Coke and Sprite (although I boycotted Sprite because LayBron endorses it. I've been drinking only Sierra Mist for the past two years). I'm curious if sales would increase if we sold Coke and Sprite, rather than the generic stuff. Just run two weeks of tests and it might be clear as to which is the better seller, although there are a lot of variables.
6. Turn on the heaters in the classroom. Sweaty kids will buy more soda. It's a proven fact.
7. Bring in celebrities to Math Camp to endorse our products. Hey, if John Mayer came to Math Camp and told me that he gets his guitar skills by eating 12 frozen burritos a day, I'm going to eat 12 burritos a day. Cal's Price Is Right appearance may qualify as celebrity status.
8. Start a breakfast program at 8:00AM. Some parents might want to drop off kids before they go to work. I breakfast program will feed these kids healthy breakfasts and also serve as a childcare. Plus it'll give workers a chance to hang out with the kids who show up early. Nothing beats a healthy breakfast like Cocoa Puff cereal in chocolate milk with a side Poptarts and a can of Mountain Dew.
