I will now post some random things:

1. It's been a fun summer so far. Our new Bible Study has been going well. We're just discussing whatever comes to our mind and reading a new book each meeting. It has forced me to read the Bible in detail because I want to make sure I know what's going on during the Bible Studies. I fear that when school starts, I won't be reading my Bible as often as I should. Even during the summer, I have nights where I don't read, then spend 3 days cramming in an entire book which I know isn't a good thing. This week we'll be studying Luke. I still have 21 chapters to read by Wednesday night.

2. Melvin's Wild Party was pretty fun. We had a lot of people show up, which was surprising. Christina was even shocked to find out there were girls at the party. I guess she associates Melvin Wild Party with Nerds, which is somewhat true since I showed up. But we had some good food and fun. We had kegs filled with Tampico "juice."

3. Later that night, we went to the final CCU Volleyball meeting. The night before, me Kenny and Brian showed up because it was awards night. But like I posted, only the top 3 in our division of 5 got ribbons. The next day I got an email saying they had ribbons for us. I think they felf sorry for us and bought ribbons for us the next day. Hey, I'll take pity ribbons anyday of the week. I wanted to get my ribbon because I worked for it. Plus I have no other awards besides my AP Giannini Science Fair ribbons and the CCU 2nd Place Volleyball ribbon from last year. So here's a picture of our ribbon this year:

Basically, the ribbon could say "Loser, Thanks for trying" and it'd still mean the same as it does now. But I'm proud of the BQ Connection Ft. Alex.

3. Nelson invited me to his Birthday BBQ on Saturday. He didn't really give me great directions. He just told me it was in Golden Gate Park, and told me to look for the place with "hecka grills." Plus he told me there'd be a sign with his name on it. Me and my map spent about 30 minutes trying to find the place. I even had to wander through the other parties in the area looking for it. I stumbled upon some Indian people having a party and I suspected I was in the wrong area. I eventually found the place. Not because of the sign he said there'd be, or because of the visable "hecka grills", but because I saw him standing near his car. Outrageous, man. There was only one grill and no sign.

But all in all it was pretty fun. Even his parents and grandma were playing frisbee and football. My family would never do that kind of stuff. I guess it's not a bad thing that they don't do that stuff but it just makes me wish I had that bond with my family. But man, when I was throwing the football around, I was launching that thing like Tom Brady. Yup, just like Superbowl MVP Tom Brady. Ok, maybe it was more like Tim Rattay but still.

4. I think I've figured out why I hate clothing shopping so much. I might be the only one, but the moment I hate the most is walking into the store and deciding which way to turn. The turn is the most crucial decision because one wrong turn and you're screwed. Do you turn left to the men's section? Or is the men's section to the right? You'd think it'd be really easy to decide, but I kid you not, sometimes it's difficult to tell. If girls make the wrong turn and stumble into the guys section, it's no big deal because they can just say they're shopping for their boyfriend. But if a guy stumbles into the panties section, you're screwed big time.

It's even worse when you're in an athletic shoe store. All those cross trainers are basically unisex looking.

I should stick to shopping for clothes online.

5. Sunday was our doubleheader at softball. I would have to say that it was the most fun at softball I've ever had. We had a few extra people during our first game, so me, Danny, Stanley, and Ben had to sit out. I brought my camera along and asked Ben how he felt. He gave me this look:

I got to sub in for Pat during the first game but nothing came to me. I got to play all of the second game. I made some really bad throws and although Norm didn't count me with errors, I consider them errors. Basically, any throw that I know I can make should be an out, and any ball I get a glove on should be caught in my mind. For some reason, all my throws were off-line or bounced in the dirt yesterday, and that cost us a few sure-outs. Jeff even had to do the splits to prevent my throw from getting past him. My arm must have been too tired from all my Tom Brady football throws on Saturday. Haha, ok, I just suck at softball. Norm has some good commentary on the softball website. I tried to get a quote in but since I wasn't a player of the game, he didn't let me have fun. I'll just have to hit a few grandslams and that'll force him to put me in. Don't worry, I won't tell anybody they have Cream of Wheat brains.

But it did feel good to finally get a few hits yesterday. I have been in the worst slump I've ever been. Jeff aka Sergio took the time last week to help me with my swing. Not only is Jeff doing the splits for me, but he's also my swing doctor. It's hard to feel good when you've got an 0-fer and an error. But I've got good teammates who will drive in the run you couldn't drive in and make the scoop when you throw a shorthop. Hopefully we can take yesterday's momentum into the playoffs. "Playoffs? Don't talk about playoffs. Are you kidding me? Playoffs? I just hope we can win a game, another game."

But to finsih the story, I'm sure you've heard, but we came back from an 11-2 deficit to tie the game. I honestly had my doubts because we needed 9 runs in 5 innings, not to mention we needed to stop them from scoring in the meantime. But we ended up doing it. They took a one run lead in extra innings, but Martin, Jeff, Anne, and Deepthroat aka Mr. Clutch got the job done, and scored two runs in the bottom of the 8th inning to send us all home. All of those guys deserve props for getting on base and allowing us to tie and then win the game. JQ says he's the real hero since he took himself out to let Ben play. Here's Ben minutes after the game winning hit:

Notice the difference from Picture 1.

6. Since my dad has retired, he decided to get a pet. He's seriously considering getting a dog, maybe a beagle. He ended up buying a goldfish but all it did was float at the bottom of the tank. I figured this fish was either good at playing dead or actually dead. We went back to the store at Lakeshore Plaza and told them something was wrong. The guy said all of those fish look sick because they have spots or are probably infected since most in the tank have the spots. I guess one of the fish is a dirty whore and spread the STD to all the other fish. We ended up "replacing" the sick fish with this one:

I felt bad for the other fish but nobody wants an STD Fish. So this one is alive and doing well so far. Stay tuned for possible future dog news.

I guess that's all for now. Thanks for reading, and in the words of Ben and Rasheed Wallace, "Both teams played hard my man. God bless ‘em and good night.”
