I went to a guidance counselor the other day, and she was actually very good in the sense that this counselor actually guided me instead of leading me even more astray like previous counselors. We basically talked about things like what I could do in the future, what type of job and intership I should look for this summer, things that were actually relevant to me. I haven't totally decided what I want to do with my potential economics degree, but one of the things I am thinking about is teaching, whether that means teaching economics in high school, or just teaching in general. She said it might take me just a few more extra years of school if I decided to go after that. I took one of those evaluate yourself self quizzes and we're going to go over my results next week. I'm currently looking at the Berkeley intership/job postings, Monster.com, Craigslist, all that jazz.

I did find an interesting intership posting yesterday. It was for an auction house that deals with sports memorabilia. The only thing preventing me from going after that spot was that you're required to drive all over the place, and I don't know if I want to be doing that. But it's cool, because you'd be handling memorabilia for the Niners and Giants. It's like an eBay on wheels. As much as it sounds like it's for me, the driving thing might become a problem because it doesn't say where or how far I'd need to go.

My counselor also pointed me towards Teachforamerica. Sounds like they just send you to underpriveledged schools around the country and you teach, see how it goes, and work towards your degree in the meantime. But she did say I could go to schools in Oakland, New Orleans, etc. Meaning if I chose that route, there's a good chance I could be sent across the country, which might be kind of cool initially but I could see that being very lonely.

I finally got out of the stone age and joined my brother and Lana's phoneplan. Now I have a new phone with a new plan. I went from 150 day minutes and 300 nights and weekend minutes (and I shared those minutes with my mom) to having 450 anytime minutes, free mobile to mobile, and unlimited nights and weekends. I even finally get voicemail, so all you guys can leave me death threats for me to listen to. The only downside was I have a new cell phone number I have to remember and give out to people, but I'll start using my new number sometimes next week until I figure it out. It even has a camera on it so I can take secret photos of people.

As I figure out my future, enjoy this John and Kanye clip.
