Garson was telling me that he and Shirley were reading about the new Star Trek movie idea floating around about Kirk and Spock at Starfleet Academy. I thought that sounded like a good idea, sort of like Kirk and Spock in their college years as dorm buddies, eating replicated dorm food, meeting hot Klingon sorority girls, going streaking in the Holodeck. They are trying to get Matt Damon as a young James T Kirk. I know the movie studios are probably having a hard time figuring out who to cast. So I thought I'd help them out today:
I agree, Kirk and Damon are a good fit:

We were having a tough time figuring out Spock. P suggested Ryan Reynolds. I could sort of see it, but he's got a reputation as a funny man.

McCoy was hard. I had to go with Mr. Bean:

I wasn't sure about Scotty either. I wanted to go with Colin Farrell, but Scotty never got the ladies in the show. I then went with the guy who looks like Colin Farrell from that Swimfan movie, Jesse Bradford:

Lieutenant Uhura was easy. I had to go with Beyonce:

And can't forget Sulu. Had to go with my boy John Cho. No lisp required for this role:

And lastly, I can't forget those Tribbles. I remember staying up late on Saturday nights to watch the original Star Treks and these were one of the first "bad guys" I saw. Star Trek essentially created the Furby toy and was ahead of its time:

Math Camp has been going well so far. No food, no cleanup. The kids have been very good so far though, only one fight that I know of. Some of these kids just get me. I like how kids always say to me "Who are you?" or "I bet you don't know my name!" Some kid said that to me and while he wasn't looking, I looked down at his paper and said "Yes I do Joseph." And he was so amazed and convinced that I was some Miss Cleo or something. Kids are about the only honest people in this world because they'll tell you how they see things. They and old people are the only people who don't care what they blurt out. The rest of us are just lying bastards. They were also playing Hangman the other day and when they saw that F and U were not letters used in the answer, some kid quickly asked if C was a letter, and it wasn't. Luckily, K was. I love these kids.
