I got a lot of autographs today. This makes for a fun hobby. I got these in the mail:

They're autos of David Wright, Jake Westbrook, and Brad Ausmus. David Wright is my favorite 3rd baseman, but there are rumblings in the sports autograph community that the autograph is fake and that he's having someone else sign for him. When you compare his earlier signature to the recent ones, you get that impression, which is sort of disappointing. This is why it's best to get their autograph when they're still no-namers in the minor leagues.

I then went to the Giants game with my dad. He's never been to a game before, so it was his first at AT&T Park. We went to eat a small pizza at Amici's Pizza (or as Alex calls it, Amanchi's) before the game. The clams, bacon, and garlic pizza is very good, but as many of you know, I will eat strips of bacon given the opportunity. Anyway, here's me with the Willie Mays statue:

For some reason, I look like a scared foreign exchange student in that picture.

We then went for some BP. I didn't catch anything this time. Jeremy Accardo did sign for about 5 minutes, so I got his autograph on my baseball. Unfortunately, he didn't sign my dad's ticket stub because my dad didn't have the sharpie and I did, so it was sort of bittersweet.

There's also a Barry Bonds 715 commerative section in the stadium for a short time:

Finally, here's a pic from our center field bleachers:

30,000 fans and I did run into Shirley, which was funny. Also, my dad and I left early, but we ended up winning the game in the bottom of the 9th on a wild pitch. Maybe I'm just bad luck because we were losing the entire time I was there, not to mention the other game a few weeks ago. Moises did hit a homer, which was exciting for my dad.

Here are some things that I learned today:

1. Ballplayers won't throw a baseball to you unless you're a child or a hot girl. Just ask Elisa, she knows it's true.

2. The Giants Dog isn't giant at all.

I think 6 players from Berkeley were also drafted in the Major League Baseball draft this week. Also, one of Lana's co-workers daughter's boyfriend (yea, that's confusing) got drafted in the 4th round by the Rockies despite his career 6.00+ ERA. Guess I'll be taking him next year in our fantasy baseball keeper league.

And finally, CCU starts in 1 week. 9 teams in our divsion, I wonder how the playoff system will work, but I'm sure that means there's no margin for error. For some reason, I'll be going by the name of Alan Lee this year. I guess that's close enough.
