Got these in from a few days ago:

It's former Berkeley baseball player Geoff Blum and pitcher Mark Buehrle. Geoff Blum was so nice that he even sent me another autographed card that I didn't even provide or ask him for. Must be the Berkeley hookup.

So we won our softball game 15-0 this past week. I'm proud to say that I contributed very little to the victory except for my expert 3rd base coaching. Perhaps next week, I will master the art of 1st base coaching.

My dad told me that he ordered a pizza at Pizza Hut on Sloat on Saturday at noon for lunch. He placed his order, didn't get the receipt, and left to go get some groceries. He came back 10 minutes later and asked for his pizza. This Asian kid that works there told my dad that he already ordered and picked up his pizza this morning, and that my dad was getting old and had a bad memory. My dad told this kid that he just came in 10 minutes ago and ordered the pizza, but this kid didn't believe him and kept telling him that he already picked up the pizza. My dad ended up just getting his $11 back and leaving. I wanted to go down to Pizza Hut and beat down on this kid for calling my dad old, but my dad said it's not worth it because he thinks this kid is literally crazy. I've now added Pizza Hut on Sloat to my boycott list.

So Gars has been telling me a lot of ghost stories recently and how certain places are haunted, especially in SF. He told me about a place in the Sunset and even the Safeway near church (I'm doing all my shopping at Albertsons now). He got me started on the show Ghost Hunters and I thought it was really interesting. Sometimes they seem to find some really creepy stuff. He suggested that we go do our own ghost hunting and it seemed like a good idea. But after some thought, I realized that I shouldn't do that kind of stuff, because even fictional stuff like The Ring has messed me up to this very day. Seeing a ghost for myself would just jack me up for life. I therefore will not venture out and try to find them. I'll leave that up to the experts.

I've always been fascinated by ghosts though. I have to admit that I never really believed in them, but I think I'm a believer now. I bought this book as a kid from those book orders in school that gave you tips on how to find ghosts. One suggestion was to throw flour all over your floor and check the next day to see if there were any footprints. I never followed through on that tip though. Not because I was afraid of finding ghosts, but because I was afraid of my mother's wrath for dirtying her floor.

Have a great 4th of July.
