I should be studying for my midterm tomorrow morning but so many people have been coming up to me and asking me about my MLB Baseball playoff predictions. Ok, nobody has, but I'm still going to list them. Keep in mind I was totally off last year so any wagers you make using my predictions should be at your own risk. Last year I predicted a Boston vs St Louis World Series. Whoops. But I did get 3/4 first round teams correct. I will take a cut of your winnings however, if you choose to give me some:
Yankees vs. Tigers: Winner=Yankees. I like the Tigers and will root for them, but they've just sucked the second half. Rogers, Bonderman, and Verlander is impressive. But those hated Yankees have too much hitting.
A's vs. Twins: Winner=A's. This will probably be a good series. But come on, the A's have Jason Kendall. That's all you need.
Dodgers vs. Mets. Winner=Dodgers. Hate to say it, but the Dodgers have a good chance to go all the way this year. Plus the Mets just imploded. They really aren't that good. No Pedro also means to World Series.
Cardinals vs. Padres. Winner=Padres. I have no idea how the Padres made the playoffs, but they have one of the best bullpens in the world. Peavy + Meredith, Linebrink, and Hoffman = Victory.
A's over Yankees. Dodgers over Padres. Let's all hope the A's can destroy the Dodgers.
I applied for an on-campus interview for an analyst position at GAP. However, I checked the status of my application over the weekend and it said "Not Invited." Wow, that really made me feel horrible about myself. Could they have phrased their rejection any worse? Might as well put "Chump." Thanks GAP.
A friend of mine said the only thing he wants out of life to make him happy is to be wanted. Perhaps that's what a job search is about: To find a place that wants you as bad as you want them. I think that mindset also goes for relationships too. GAP just gave me the "It's not you, it's me" speech. Actually, the "Not Invited" pretty much says that it is me.
