Thanksgiving is now over. I have post-Thanksgiving depression. It's really just the fact that I have to go back to school now with finals waiting for me. The good news is I have "only" 25 days of school left including finals, so I will be rejoicing on December 18th. The bad news is now I have to focus hard for the next three weeks. I am also in the process of looking for an internship for the spring semester and a job when I graduate.

Thanksgiving was pretty good. We made a turkey. I made cornbread.

We did not really get into the Black Friday festivities. I was willing to wait in the cold at Best Buy or Circuit City, but there was nothing I really needed. I did go with Brian, Kenny, and Peony the next morning around 11am. We were lucky to find parking spaces everywhere we went. The only thing I really wanted at Circuit City was The Office DVD Season 1. We checked the DVD section but they were all sold out. P pointed out they still had Office Space (which is still a good movie) and the DVD for The Office British Version (not the same), but no more The Office American versions. I was very sad, crestfallen if you will. So while I was waiting in line with her, she dug through a pile of garbage and found a lone copy of The Office, which meant some guy probably decided at the last minute not to purchase it and threw it in a random bin. Moral of the story: sometimes, it pays not to ditch your friends because they will find things you want in garbage. Second moral of the story: if you show up at 11am on Black Friday, expect to not find anything you want except reject video games and DVDs of British television shows.

Ryan was cool enough to sell me his extra Nintendo Wii at retail price, so we played that a little bit over the weekend. I'm glad it comes with a Wii Sports Game, but sadly we only had one controller. Kenny, Alex, and I were up on Thursday playing the boxing game until 2am trying to take down the computer. It really gave us a good workout. My arms were all sore the next morning from boxing. I'm such a stud now.

Saturday was Roger's 25th birthday celebration. We had pizza at California Pizza Kitchen. Cal, Ben, Jade, and I sat at one table (Jackie got mad at me for not sitting at her table with Martin and Roger). Each table ordered separately, so we got two pizzas and a pasta dish. We also bartered with other tables for their pizza. Roger and Martin got so excited over the fact we were at California Pizza Kitchen that they broke the light bulb over their heads and the waiter had to come in and fix it. And to make sure he didn't get shocked, they had to dim the lights for a few seconds, but it ended up dimming the lights to the entire restaurant. What trouble makers.

For dessert, we went to Joe's Ice Cream by the old church building. Sadly, they sold out of the pumpkin ice cream. So instead, I got cookie dough. Nobody was a fan of the cookie dough. I contemplated the eggnog ice cream, and I was mocked for my poor taste in ice cream. Cal got a lime green ice cream that looked radioactive.

To end the night, we played Casino-opoly at church, which is a game board you add on to Monopoly except you're allowed to gamble your money away. I was the first to lose. The slot machines took all my money way. I was doing great at the beginning because I kept calling black on the roulette wheel and won. However, the fact that I once went black and refused to go back cost me in the end.

Today was testimony Sunday. I did not speak this year. There was also cake to honor Mel and Nate. I had a slice of the Nate cake.

That was my weekend. Now it is time to focus on school, internships, finding myself a job, and most importantly, Christmas. There's nothing like listening to KOIT 96.5's 24-Hour Christmas music. I'm not a huge fan of Christmas shopping because the old ladies and I fight over the same items, so maybe I'll just do all my shopping online this year. Or maybe I'll buy items from QVC and give them as gifts.
