"In the music industry, a one-hit wonder is an artist generally known for only one hit single." - Wikipedia

According to Wikipedia, John Mayer is not a one hit wonder. In fact, he just nabbed two more Grammys tonight for Pop Vocal Album: "Continuum" and Male Pop Vocal Performance: "Waiting on the World to Change." The man is so generous, he is also helping other artists win Grammys. He played guitar on two of the Dixie Chick songs who won 5 Grammys, including the biggest Grammy: Album of the Year.

A couple weeks ago, we had the first CBC Marathon. One of our stops was at Mount Davidson. Brian and I got to the top at around 7:20AM while it was still dark. It is the scariest feeling going into dark mass of trees with no sunlight and the eerie sounds of water dropping from the branches. The craziest thing was that when we got to the top, there was a guy coming toward us. Then he just walked over to the cross and read the inscriptions, as if it was his first time up there. I took a picture of Brian and the cross with the dude in the background, but it was so foggy the guy is not in the picture. I think he was a ghost. Brian said something about Mount Davidson being owned or dedicated to the Armenian genocide victims. Brian did say the guy looked Russian, "possibly Armenian"...

It was tough, but I got through the half marathon. Cal was even cool enough to get us plaques and genuine bling: medals that spin.

Genuine Bling

This past weekend was the CBC Iron Chief Competition. Selina and I were a team battling against Garson and Peony, and Roger and Cal. Shirley, Dave, and Danny were judges. Kenny was emperor and gave us our secret ingredient: Citrus.

We went from 2:30-6:30 to getting our recipes, ingredients, cooking, and plating. The final dishes came out looking great:

Selina and I cooked a citrus salad with avacados, grapefruit, shrimp, and a tartar sauce. The main course was grilled tuna with a citrus salsa consisting of oranges, cilantro, lemon juice, lime, and cashews for the garnish. The dessert was a yogurt and fig blend with lemon and orange zest, honey, and cinnamon. Brian, Kenny, and Ophelia went around filming us like reality tv. I think our Jessica Simpson-tuna moment came when we were looking for avacados at the Chinese market. I told Selina that they were not ripe enough to eat yet, but she said we could just microwave the avacados to ripen them up.
